It's not uncommon for panic-stricken users to head to Google to search for emergency service information -- and that's precisely the reason for a new feature being integrated into Google's mobile Web version.
Built on the same code that powers Google's targeted mobile ads, the new feature provides click-to-call functionality when a user appears to be searching for information for dealing with a wide variety of emergencies. One example would be poison control, which you can see in the screenshot.
Google has enabled click-to-call for emergencies in 14 countries, and we suspect that list will be expanded as soon as it's possible for Google to do so.Google adds click-to-call for emergency information originally appeared on Download Squad on Thu, 10 Mar 2011 08:50:00 EST.
